Next week, Tuesday 4 November 2025, will see the Inquiry hold the final preliminary hearing for its investigation into the ‘Impact on society’ (Module 10).
The hearing will take place at the Inquiry’s Hearing Centre, Dorland House, London, W2 6BU (map) and will begin at 11:30am.
At preliminary hearings, the Inquiry Chair makes decisions about how investigations will run. The Inquiry does not hear evidence at these hearings. There will be submissions from Counsel to the Inquiry and Core Participants to help prepare for the public hearings, where evidence will be heard.
The Inquiry’s tenth and final investigation will examine the impact of Covid-19 on the population of the United Kingdom with a particular focus on key workers, the most vulnerable, the bereaved, and mental health and wellbeing. The investigation will also seek to identify where societal strengths, resilience and/or innovation reduced any adverse impact.
Public hearings for ‘Impact on society’ (Module 10) are scheduled to take place from Monday 16 February to Thursday 5 March 2026. These will be the UK Covid-19 Inquiry’s final weeks of hearings.
More details are included in the provisional outline of scope for Module 10. The list of Core Participants can be found here.
The hearing is open to the public to attend – information on how to attend can be found on the website.
Preliminary hearings can be viewed on the Inquiry’s YouTube channel, subject to a three minute delay.
The Inquiry will publish a transcript of the hearing on the same day it concludes. A recording of the hearing will be published on the Inquiry’s website and YouTube channel at a later date. Alternative formats, including a Welsh language translation, are available on request.
